Failure to deliver paid for merchandise

I bought a Gordon Ramsay Dinner set for my wife as a Chsristmas gift. The money was paid over to Groupon on the 18th November 2012. I have sent a mail to the e-mail address stated on the website for queries and this was never answered. I have also made numerous calls to the call centre. This in itself is an irritation as you have to hold on for anything from 5 to 10 minutes to get an operator and if you do they are full of empty promises. The reason for non delivery was that the side plates were not available and that they are waiting for delivery from their suppliers. I was on two occasions promised delivery of the set without the side plates which would then be delivered later on. Needles to say this has not happened.
I also requested to speak to a supervisor / manager but was told after ten minutes of holding on that none were available.
This was my first time buying from Groupon and will definitely be my last and as far as possible will tell anyone to be very careful when they buy from Groupon.
