I'm a Vodacom user with quite a number of contracts, including Internet data bundles. In Parow where I live the signal becomes so bad, expecially during weekends, that I end up with EDGE instead of 3G on my modem. It constantly disconnect. I have to connect several timed during one session. I've got a feeling that Vodacom and Cell C shares data services, and that Vodacom keep on loading more clients onto the existing data framework without expanding it. The service declined quite a lot in the past 2 years. I cannot wait for my present contracts to expire so that I can try MTN. My friends on MTN have no complaints about signal strengths. I feel I'm not getting my moneys worth signal data, especially normal downloading when I log onto the Internet. I suspect my modem's program is also outdated but I cannot get an upgrade for it. I've even bought a antenna from the supplier Vodacom suggested, but it did not improve my signal strength.
