Unfair refund policy on new products

I bought a cover for a Samsung Note Book but realized it is very flimsy and won't last very long in my line of work. When I wanted to return it within 7 days I was told that Vodacom does not have a money back guarantee. I then asked if I could take out a data contract for the amount but was told by the manager that I can only take another accessory of the same value from the shop. Unfortunately there is nothing that I can use in the shop for that amount. My till slip had no terms and conditions printer on it either. I still have the item in perfect condition in its packaging with the till slip.
