On Thursday 28 March 2013, my husband and I were shopping in Canal Walk shopping centre. I saw a pair of sneakers in the window display at Adidas, advertised at R649. I went into the store and asked to try on a pair.
They gave me the one pair in the window as this was the last pair. At the till checkout, the lady scanned the box and I was told the price is R699. There was no price on the box or anywhere else in the store. I told her the price display ad in the window next to the mannequin shows the price as R649. She then called the manager (Waheed Davids) as there wasn't a manager in the store. He then said he's not overriding the price and that they refuse to honour the price as advertised in the window. I told the lady that this not in accordance with the CPA and that must honour the price as advertised. The refused and I was told to "take it or leave it". I then... LEFT IT! This is terrible customer service and completely dishonest!
