I went into a Due South at Canal Walk yesterday and the price of the polar watches were still marked down. I had requested to purchase one at that price (clearly marked) and the sales clerk declined to put through the purchase without clearing it with the manager (understandably). I agreed to wait till today so see what the manager had to say.
The manager will not approve the sale despite the price being clearly marked down. As far as I know when two prices are displayed on the same good in South Africa, the seller is obligated to sell at the lower of the two prices.
They have not have given any alternatives options (e.g. store credit in lieu of the reduced price) or a reasonable explanation as to why they won't honour the listed price. Very disappointing indeed.
I would be very interested to hear what Due South's official policy is on this.
