I bought a Hisense bar fridge on promotion for my son for varsity hostel. Drove 144km to PTA and back thru e-tols to deliver and surprise him. Brand new out of the box found that the fridge is not working. Switches on and off in 10sec and not making cold. Took it back to Makro in Germiston and decided to buy the Defy bar fridge. First I was told by the sales lady that they have stock and then said no stock. We then found the same fridge in its box on a trolley on the floor on the other side of the shelves. I was assured by 3 sales people that it was not a return or someone else's trolley. After I mentioned that I had just returned the Hisense fridge and that I do not want to go thru with the same problem again. She again promised that this was a brand new fridge and was never opened. The box did look dirty and I thought it came out of the store. Arriving at home this afternoon and open the box, I found that this was either a repaired or returned fridge. The top cover was completely loose or broken off and screws missing. This is really a disgrace. Waisting my time, effort and travel. Could've traveled another 144km for nothing. Your sale's people will not be trusted again.
