PRODUCT DESCRIPTION VAGUE - WILL NOT ACCEPT RETURN OF GOODS

We purchased and paid for a Tek Nek Honda Utility Camo Ride On in the amount of R1399.00. We wanted a Ride On that was powered and self propelled suitable for our 1 1/2 year old son. When the product arrived we found that it was in fact only powered in the sense that it could produce sounds and had some lights. We realized that this was not what we needed as our son already has 3 similar products on which he is able to push himself forward.

I contacted (attempted to contact) Debbie Swart of Posh Baby Boutique on all her numbers with no success. I emailed her describing the situation, and told her that the product is still in it's original state and packaging, and that we would be willing to return it to her.

She replied to my wife as follows:

Unfortunatley we cannot return imported items as the shipping costs and import duties and taxes are 50% of the order price.*****************

I replied and told her that her statement is none of my concern and that in terms of the Consumer Protection Act I am able to return the goods to her. Numerous further attempts to contact her to return the goods for a refund has been unsuccessful.

I now have to seek assistance from the Consumer Ombudsman/Court.

Steer well clear of this company. All our previous happy experiences with them have been negated by this unnecessary attitude.
