Received several complaints about this rental agency in Wellington, just outside Cape Town. Much like the majority of all tenant-agent complaints but the similarity in all of these cases appealed to me. The fact that in 4 from 5 tenants placed, the agent was never present and/or never even met the prospective tenant. The keys were always obtained from the previous tenant or hid under a rock or left in the mailbox. Convenient for the agent maybe but here's were it starts to snowball. The agent is on attack mode and not impressed at all with my call. Tried to explain how we want them to say their say like she did over the phone.
Ceilings caving in, no lights working, no backdoor keys, Ovens not working, Washing down-pipe not draining etc. All of which had been reported, by email and fax sometimes both. When approached they denied all allegations, but our proof is in the paper. They promised a reply by 4pm - it is now 5pm and nothing yet.
