A supplier sent samples with Zero commercial value to me in South Africa. When Fedex collected they insisted on the supplier place a value (even though though the supplier wanted 0 value). On receipt in South Africa Adele Pike contacted me for clearance. I advised her before clearance that the customs duty was not applicable - she said she would check back (Friday 6-Dec 13). I called back and sent emails - but simply got no response. Then I started receiving auto generated emails outlining that I would have to pay storage costs and that delivery was pending my payment of custom costs. When I finally got hold of Adele late 9th December I confirmed with her that the supplier had completed incorrect details based on Fedex advisement??? (at my cost???). I then asked the supplier to send me the corrected invoice for SAMPLES which has since been passed onto Adele at 04:30 morning 10th Dec. Then in the evening I received a call saying that clearance was already completed (without my acceptance or authorisation). I am now in a desperate situation needing the sample to be released (reason for a courier in the first place) and will have to pay to move forward
