I was sequestrated in 2010 due to debts arising out of arrears in levies. My flat was eventually sold and i was evicted by Dec last year. Whilst i was fighting the case i wrote emails to Standard Bank to enquire of the status of my homeloan account in relation to my sequestration and they seemed not be aware that i was sequestrated and the last response i got from them was that i should enquire from legal department.
Following the sale of the house i had expected to receive notification from Standard Bank on what the status of the account is, as i do not have any form of cession of rights to the sectional title from any body including the liquidators.
I would like to know if i should not be getting any statement from Standard informing me of my standing with the loan including the life insurance i was paying for the homeloan.
I continued paying the bond even after sequestration and i stopped paying my bond 8 months after sequestration on advice from the liquidator.
I would appreciate a response from Standard Bank over this matter so as to know where i stand should i file for rehabilitation.
Kind regards
Noma
