I am insured through PSG Konsult with Hollard. With bad hail storms experienced at the end of last year & beginning of this year we have damage now on our roof due to the protective spray we have on the roof being stripped by the heavy rain and hail. I have mould spots & valley areas on the roof where there is damage which need to be repaired. I have photos of one of the storms which was provided to the assessors. Firstly they took a month from when I lodged the claim to send an assessor, then they sent an assessor that had no knowledge of thatch roofs and told me I must comb my roof every year. A simple google search will advise anyone that you don't comb every year. We disputed this result and it took another 8 weeks to get a second assessors who said that because it was so long after the fact, he couldn't prove or disprove that the damage was now due to hail damage. Hollard has upheld their decline of my claim even though I have proof that repair work was done less than 2 years ago and photos of the actually hail storm taking place. So you pay for services that you don't get when you need them. This is being reported to the Ombudsman as well as lawyers as my roof gets worse
