On the 1st of March 2013 I booked a return ticket on Emirates Airline destination Dubai. The cost per ticket of R 5, 911. On the 7 March my family experienced a severe event where our house was partially destroyed in a traumatic flooding.
On trying to cancel the ticket, we are moving into a six month rental on the day we were meant to travel, I am told the charge is R 3, 000 and that the fare paid is only R 5, 170 so the refund is a scandalous R 2, 170. In addition the flight is the eve of the Easter weekend which is peak season and the seat will easily be sold.
What a bad experience with Emirates Airlines.
