I flew from Dubai to Johannesburg on 4 January 2013. I have flown with Emirates several times over the past 2 years and I have always been very impressed with their in-flight service. This particular flight was not the case... The purser in Economy class was more concerned about flirting with the flight attendants than the fact that the food ran out and the last few rows did not get any food!!! Later, during drinks service, there was also only water, tonic water and soda water left - nothing else. Some of the flight attendants were very apologetic, but the purser just stayed in the galley right at the back of the plane (I was seated in one of the last rows, so I could see what was going on in the galley).
Furthermore, when we landed in Johannesburg, they allowed the passengers to get up and start getting their luggage out of the overhead bins, while the plane was still taxiing!!! No one said anything over the intercom to get passengers to sit down and put back their seatbelts! I have flown all over the world, and I have never seen flight crew allow the passengers to get up while still taxiing!!!
I was sorely disappointed in Emirates this time...
