Two Hotel - Buenos Aires
Modern, no frills hotel in the center of San Telmo, Buenos Aires with very helpful staff. Rooms were small, but new and modern. Be careful it is a very popular local hotel and often fully booked - make sure that room bed preferences are clearly defined on the booking voucher - they were not able to give me a room with a double bed as I requested.
Grand Bolivar - Lima
Grand old lady with lots of history; beautiful building and very accommodating staff (were arrived after midnight and had to depart again middle of the night). Worth a stay, just to experience colonial grandeur.
Del Prado Inn - Cuzco, Peru
Best little boutique hotel I stayed in, in a long time. On the central square, best staff an lovely room. The Jacuzzi in the cold was a winner. I will recommend this hotel to anybody going to Cuzco.
If you recall, we did not book transfers because they looked expensive; the reality was that transfers in Peru and Argentina are very expensive, and looking back it would have been better to pre-arrange them.
