I was to board a flight from Durban to lanseria on flightMN594.arriving at the airport i decide to do a self checkin with a group of 4 of us.my freind decided to to a counter checkin and he managed to board and not us.the people working at the counter informed us that self checkin closes and we have to do counter checkin.there was no one to inform us to do a counter checkin.the people working at the counter were not helpfull at all.on booking code ERVCLZ which has 2 names Mr Shabir Ahmed Moosa Haffejee and Shiraz Abba they only allowed 1 person to enter the flight when there's 2 names, that doesn't make sense to me cause he did a counter checkin and they allowed only 1 person to board and not 2..the other people who did a self checkin was booking code ZIPJZU and MOTMOI.we all were checking in at the same time, 4 on self checkin and 2 at the counter.
I think the problem was the incompetence of the staff at the checkin counter who failed to inform us of No self service was not active at that moment.
We had to purchase new tickets at our own expense and had to fly to OR Tambo airport which was way off from lanseria.
I'm awaiting a response immediately cause
