Friday 2 August, my sister arrived later than expected at the airport, about 40min prior to departure time. She only had hand luggage and rushed to the check in. At the check in they advised her, that she missed check in. It states on Mango's website gates only close 30min prior to departure? She talked to three incompetent staff and finally called my mom about 25 minutes before departure, crying hysterically cause no one even attempted to be of some help.
My mother then called Mango's call centre and guess what? The agent put the phone down in her ear, this is utterly pathetic!
We had to do a cash transfer to a ATM to get her on standby for a next flight, she eventually boarded a flight later that night. When? 25 min before departure they let her through the gates!
This leads me to believe that Mango was overbooked for her first flight and that the "being-late" was a convenient excuse.
Mango's staff is utterly unprofessional. To my friends, please don't book Fly Mango! This is not the first time we've had problems with this airline! It doesn't suprise me that they don't respond on Hello Peter.
