Pathetic Assistance

I was booked on a flight from Durban to Johannesburg on Mango airline JE248 at 15:25. I attempted to check in online a few hours prior to the flight and was unsuccessful.
I got to the airport at 14:40. Two check in assistants were busy helping one lady and here i am waiting in the queue in the nick of time. So i go up to a third lady and tell her I heard a boarding call for my flight, she says i must just wait.
When another assistant is free and i go through, I was told check in closed and I am too late there is nothing that can be done.
I actually did not even have the energy to throw my toys out the cot, but due to one's lack of know how and she had to be assisted by another assistant to help a customer. A third that was doing something else and told me to wait, I missed my flight. I was put on standby and was told i would have to pay in R1990.00 for two for standby for the next flight. I have been flying Kulula for years, to date I have never experienced any problems. I flew Mango due to the specials, but incurred more costs due to the ground/counter service assistants, the counter staff in Durban are awful to have to deal with.
