Mango Airlines
Disallowing a paid passenger to board an airline

I had booked a flight for my mother to depart for Durban 12 June and to return 19 June 2013. She departed all good and well and was told to produce a copy of the credit card to which I emailed on 18 June a copy of my credit card statement with my name and card clearly shown and the date that the money was offset against it, being 27 May. She got to the airport at 14:00 and they refused to let her board, I sent the copy of the CC to the Durban airport and they forfeited the amount and asked her to pay for an additional cost. Being a Purchasing Manager with authority to sign legal documents I acknowledge my right as a consumer and have read the consumer protection act that states simply: Suppliers are required to honour the supply of goods or services on specified dates, times and other particulars, if committing to such arrangements in reservations or bookings. I find this entirely double standards on Mango Airlines part as they allowed her to board here and then denied her the right to do so on her return. I have found a number of clauses on the consumer protection act that gives me the right to take this matter further. It is not about the money it is about the conduct and ethics
