Cell C
Unethical: failure to disclose newer, cheaper deal

Dear Cell C

Last week I was contacted by Mahera (unsure of spelling) from Cell C regarding getting a new Cell C Straight Up 100 contract. I was quoted R229/m for this contract, and thus placed an order for one. I phoned Cell C today to find out the status of my order, only to find out, to my horror, that the same contract is now being offered as a "Manager's Special" for R199/m by Cell C.

The consultant on the phone told me that I had 5 days to think the contract over, but that if the courier arrived there may be a "send back" fee if I don't sign for the phone. Since the courier has not yet arrived, I would like to renegotiate the contract at the new price of R199/m. I think it is unfair for Cell C not to inform me of the impending new contract price being offered just 2 business days after I had been contacted by Cell C - tthat is unethical and against the the Consumer Protection Act.

I will consider getting a new contract with Cell C, but only if they offer me the above-mentioned contract at the "Manager's Special" price. Please respond/contact me BEFORE any cellphone is sent to me,

Please let me know if this can be remedied,

Regards
Alexandre Rodrigues
