In October 2012 my husband was contacted by fnb who offered him a contract with cell c whereby he would receive 2gigs data for R99. He said no as he did not need the data. The sales rep was persistent and eventually my husband agreed, after ensuring that it was ONLY R99 per month. The sales rep reassured him and that was that. Our first bill in November was for R689.31!!! We were horrified! The invoice included random charges as well as phone calls!! he SIM card sat in our modem, no phone calls were ever made! What's more the Internet stops working when we have used the 2 gigs, so no additional charges can be applied! I contacted cell c in November and was assured we would be refunded. They apologized profusely and vowed to resolve the issue. It is now march and they have NEVER not once contacted us back! We have exhausted ourselves contacting them and their service is revolting!! Empty promises! In the meantime we have received several bills since then, all over R500!! We haven't even been using the SIM card!!! I am an attorney! I know their conduct is EXTREMELY contra the Consumers protection act! I'm am tired of this now! I want results cell c i want our money back. Do your job!!
