Week 2, escalations and no solution in sight

Last week I reported that my ADSL connection was heinously slow and that for 4 days, Telkom hadn't done anything to fix it.

Every time I call, I get the same thing: "there's a problem with the exchange, but we'll escalate it for you." This isn't good enough. Still, nothing is happening...

I thought that it'd be easier to cut out the middle man as it were and skip ISPs like Mweb so that I only have to deal with 1 company. BIG mistake! I'm paying over R700 per month for a service that I don't believe I'm getting and as such, I believe Telkom to be in breach of contract so I'm very seriously considering cancelling my ADSL subscription and moving to another ISP.

This is completely unacceptable to me. There are people using the line because they earn their income online. Because the line is so slow now and because Telkom is either unable or unwilling to fix it, we're short by two weeks worth of income.

My number is attached to this report. I want someone from Telkom (not a call centre agent) to contact me before close of business today to sort this out now. I've had enough!
