The response (from Vodacom) to my previous query is unsatisfactory. According to them, they cannot exchange my Samsung Chat Deluxe handset, as it was purchased by my own choice.
That may be true, BUT I only chose that specific handset because it was ADVERTISED to support WhatsApp. I WOULD NOT HAVE PURCHASED IT, HAD IT BEEN ADVERTISED OTHERWISE.
Vodacom hides behind the E&OE foot note in their brochures, and that still leaves me with a contract for a device that can not perform the function it was intended for. This CAN NOT be fair! In that case I want to cancel the contract immediately.
