Telkom - THE inefficient monopoly

My mother has reported our non-working line at least 3 times, received 3 references (all a total waste of time) and eventually asked me to get involved. Most pathetic is that taking into account the useless call centre system that doesn't work and has cost my mother in excess of R500 on cell phone calls, Telkom do not even have decency to provide a toll-free number. Why should consumers be paying for Telkom's delays - unacceptable!!!

I then got involved and have had a similar experience. Not only were my calls not answered, but to make matters worse, I followed the sms option, provided telephone number and references and STILL have heard nothing.

The only reason it's possible for a company to get away with such sub-standard service delivery and even less understanding of the concept, it's simply because they are a monopoly.

Will be interesting to see if they are even interested enough to respond to this query.
