Fault Reporting

For the past two weeks i've been inquiring the progress of the fault on my phone, without success. i keep on getting a "there is a problem in your area and backlog" response (whatever that means because no one clarifies). What i want to know is
1. What is the turnaround time for faults? (I've waited two weeks...)
2.Seeing that i haven't had a phone for three weeks now, will Telkom reduce my installment (i haven't used services as per our contract)

The least that Telkom can do is send a courtesy sms informing progress, just like you do when you require us to make payment. Its quite annoying to be told "be patient" if no one gives updates.

Telkom needs a network competitor, that way they wont drag their feet when it comes to customers.
