Billing that could have been avoided

I am furious, I am saddled with a huge bill of R13, 319, that could have been avoided if provided with the correct billing information. I switched from a top up package to an opened ended package on 21 Sept 2013 this was my only option per the consultant at MTN Pinelands. I use my phone mainly for business calls and emails and the package provided insufficient airtime. I needed all calls itemised to claim my business calls. The switch took place 21/10/2013 since then I am informed I used 6, 269, 588, 480 data. I have uncapped WIFI at home, I have a 3g device if I need other data serviced, I have internet at work this usage is impossible. I was disconnected due to this abnormally high usage but not advised of any costs. The day I was disconnected I was told to pay MTN a sum of R803.83 and R170.48 which any normal person would assume is in full settlement. At no time was any data amount brought to my attention for payment and my phone was activated and the data usage just continued. This could have been avoided just by being provided with the correct information. I cannot be held responsible for this bill after I received inadequate information from MTN the service provider.
