My wife and I ported to Cell C in Nov, specifically on the Econet package, in order to make cheaper calls to Zimbabwe. As far as I was knew the package entailed the exact same thing as being on the 99c for real package: making 99c local calls, even the 99c standard international calls. The only difference is that this sim card allows one to call Zimbabwe Econet numbers for R2.85 (peak) and R2.25 (off peak) instead of the usual Cell C's R4.99/min to Zim.

On Sunday 29 Dec I recharged with R300 and I got free data of 900 MB due to the SupaCharge. So I had R300 airtime 900 MB. I was downloading files that were about 1 100 MB (1.1 GB) and I checked my balance: not only was the 900 MB depleted (understandably), but I was left with R53 of airtime!

As far as I know Cell C's out of bundle rate is 15c/MB, and I was charged almost R250 for about 200 MB. The call centre agent explained that I got charged R220 for 1.1 GB which does not make sense.

The agent at Cell C said that Econet charges differently. I spoke to Econet and they said that everything is the same as the normal 99c for real starter pack except I get to make cheaper calls to Zim.
