I received my account for December and noticed that I was being charged a ridiculous amount for data. I requested my data balance on 07/11, it read as follows: "Available Data: 344.59MB Expiry Date: 2013/11/11". Now, it is commonly accepted that this is the last day that something will be valid. Yet, my downloads of the 11th of November of were not taken from this internet bundle, instead it seems this bundle expired on the 10th of November. That is very misleading!
Also, I get charged at 99c per MB for my out of bundle usage!! I called Cell C on 11 Dec, ref number 3121103988 and was informed that all in and out of bundle data charges are 15c per MB, which is what I expected since CellC announced that their in and out of bundle charges are lowered to 15c per MB. I called again on the 17th, the unhelpful lady I spoke to told me that all out of bundle charges will be charged at R2, and that they will forward my query to escalations but they will come back and tell me I'm liable. After reading other reports, I realise I got caught in the 15c/99c trap.
Cell C, I liked you, I promoted you to friends and family, now, you ruined my Xmas :(
