Credit Rating lowered due to Incorrect Billing

I have a good credit rating, on Saturday I went to apply for a new Cell Phone Contract. But the store declined this as they advised me that I must contact Trans Union. I phoned Trans Union, and they advised me that Altech Autopage has listed me. Upset and irate Autopage advised account is in arrears'. To my knowledge the account has been paid up. I called several department to find out that I have to pay R 8.76.
I was appalled at this ridiculous amount to pay, firstly as I wasn't notified about this and also the customer service at Autopage wasn't helping at all.
SO R 8.76 HAS CAUSED ME TO BE EMBARRASSED AND HUMILIATED .
I HOPE THAT THERE ARE BETTER SYSTEMS IN PLACE FOR ACCOUNT ARREARS EVEN AS LITTLE AS R 8.76

FOR THIS REASON I WILL NOT TAKE A CONTRACT WITH AUTOPAGE IN THE FUTURE AND I AM DISGUSTED WITH THIS.
