I have 2 contracts with Vodacom, which after a 60 day arrears issue both numbers were removed from the network. I had made a payment arrangement but this did not seem to matter to them. I then contacted them and they informed me that I can reinstate the numbers by paying the arrears as well as a R550 charge to reactivate the numbers, or i can cancel the contract and enter a repayment agreement for 2 years by paying a monthly fee or R555 to pay off the balance of the contracts.
I accepted the agreement and I have been paying since April. I recently drew my credit report as i was being denied credit from several institutions, only to discover that Vodacom has me listed as a 150 days in arrears since april, thus to ITC it looks like i have not paid the account since april, i phoned them and was told that thats how it works.
My credit record has depleted by 52% since april, they never disclosed that the agreement works this way, i might just as well have put myself up for debt counseling! I will not rest until the matter is resolved, and will take legal action if need be! this is an absolute outrage! why would i enter an agreement if my credit stays the same as if i didnt pay them?
