Lack of SMS notification leads to data over run

I buy a regular data package for my mobile device and most months get SMS's to notify me when the package is getting close to depletion and when it is depleted.

This month however I did not receive the notification and therefor ended up using out of package data that amounted to a significant account. This is not the first time that it has happened as a matter of fact it is the second time in the last 6 months and every time it only comes to my attention when i access the web portal to purchase more data.

The Vodacom call centre agents said the fact that I do not receive the notifications are due to a setting on my profile but could not explain the fact that I received these notifications on a regular basis for prior months.
