Telkom
Unable to change Adsl package

On 6 December I went to the Telkom Direct store opposite Game in Somerset Mall. I wanted to change my Adsl package from 10 Mbps to 4 Mbps because my exchange cannot handle 10 Mbps. (I was told Telkom would do this automatically, but they did not do it).

The Lady was unable to assist me (after several attempts), because she "did not know how to do this". Her answer: "Sorry Sir, you have to phone Telkom Internet support".

On Monday 9 December I phoned to change my package from 10 Mbps to 4Mbps and to uncapped 4 Mbps. Got a reference number (90804596A) and they said it would be done on the next day.

Today (11 December) I phoned again and asked why this has not been done. The first person took about 10 minutes to try and solve this. Then she (clueless) put me through to another person. She tried also a few minutes and said: "We are having system errors and cannot assist".

I would like to stay with Telkom, but if they do not want me to stay with this bad service, there are other service providers that offer the same (probably a few rands cheaper) I will have to change.
