Three Weeks of MWEB nightmare

My internet saga started three weeks ago. I could receive mails but couldn't send, and the internet connection was very unstable. After 4-5 days of complaints, many calls with different call centre staff, and the intervention of my technical support person, the problem was escalated to a senior MWEB technician, and a complaint logged with telkom. To get to this stage I had to lay out close to R700 in technical fees and buy a new router. The problem lay with the telkom line, which could have been picked up by MWEB with a few simple speed tests on my outgoing data on day one. 10 days later Telkom finally resolved the problem! In the meantime, to keep my business afloat, I had to buy a portable MTN router and data - add R750 to the mounting bill! On Mon 28 Jan I mailed through a form to upgrade to an uncapped option with MWEB. I was assured this would be done by close of day Mon or Tues morn. Wed afternoon, in advance of an online seminar for which I require good connectivity, I phone to follow up and am told that a copy of my ID is needed but no-one has bothered to inform me. After being kept on hold for more than 15 mins I head out to buy more data for my MTN router. MWEB: a mess!
