Just not acceptable

I recently moved house and in the process stopped using an ADSL line. I therefore have been using my cell phone as a wireless hot spot to do my daily work.

About 3 weeks ago I got an SMS saying that I was out of my 2GB data bundle and that out of data bundle rates would apply unless I topped it up. I diligently decided to follow the link and recharged my data bundle with another 2GB bundle at R 249.00 as a once off charge.

I then continued to used my phone secure in the knowledge that my data was not our of bundle.

As I was now using my phone all the time as a wireless hot spot I received the out of bundle notification exactly 5 more times during the course of the month. And I duly bought a new bundle following the SMS instructions for an additional R 249.00 every time.

I expected my bill to be about R 1200.00 more this month and was very OK to pay that.

ONLY today when Vodacom locked my phone and I did some further digging that it turns out that I was buying a 2Gb once off Night owl package and that I was being billed out of data bundle rates for the past 3 weeks to the tune of 8k. This is not acceptable as I acted with honor and you - Vodacom - have not...
