Billed for subscription I did not initiate

I was billed on my MTN account for a total content charge of R272.99 for which I had no idea what it was for. After contacting MTN, they informed me that this charge was triggered by Mira Networks. MTN also said I should take this up with Mira Networks as they could not assist me with this. This is totally astounding as I have never initiated any subscription for R7/day with anyone. When contacting Mira Networks, they said they would cancel the subscription but couldn't refund the money taken off my MTN account. The response from Mira Networks is that they wouldn't refund the charge. Even though they said I responded to an sms for a subscription, I explained that I never did and that I never received any sms attempting to sollicit any subscription. Even worse is the fact that I don't even know what the subscription is supposed to be for and I have never received anything that I'm supposed to be subscribing to. This is definitely a and unethical practice. In addition I'm surprised that MTN allow such companies to put through such unauthorised transactions on their billing.
