On the 13th of June 2013 I advised MTN that I would not be renewing my contract. On the 27th of June 2013 I received confirmation from the MTN offices that my cell phone number will be cancelled effective 6th August 2013 as per expiration date. To date, I continue to receive monthly invoices amounting to R 341 where I'm being billed for a contract that has already expired.
In an attempt to resolve this I have sent multiple emails to the customer services email address, but to date have not received any response. I today tried to call the call centre (083 1 808), but the number was engaged.
I cannot understand how it takes MTN this long to stop billing me for a contract that I terminated with more than sufficient lead time. My major concern is that while they continue to ignore my requests, I am at risk of my national credit rating being impacted negatively due to MTN's gross negligence.
