I applied for a new ADSL line for my house in Durbanville September 2013. After Telkom centre approved my 2 Meg data line, they told me that Installation date will be on the 7th October 2013 which happened. With my experience of the previous data line and speed, I asked the technical person from Telkom to stay while I test the line speed on telkom speed test. The line speed show that its running at 603kbs where it's supposed to be /- 2 MEG. The technical person told me that he only installs the adsl router and I need to take it up with Telkom service centre. After several Reference numbers and emails to Telkom, our line speed was on Sunday 13th October 2013 at 30kbs. I feel that Telkom SA are very quick to do a sale, if the contract is for a 2 Meg line we get charged for a 2 Meg line we surely need to get the data for the price we paying. Why should clients in South Africa always struggle to get service and always under false promises. I gave Telkom more than a week to rectify this problem and will take this matter to the media to publish Telkom SA's name for bad service and false promises of contract.() I have al supportive documents and even every day's Speed Test saved.
