No one responsible and zero communication

Since having purchased an 8ta 3G card it has never worked correctly and now almost never works. I have tried to call customer care but often get disconnected after waiting for lengthy periods. I recently decided that enough was enough and it was time to cancel my contract. I was told to go into a store to do so. On 29/09/13 I went into the 8ta store in Century City and submitted the application to cancel. The very helpful gentleman at the store said someone would call me within 3 days. No One called. It is now 2 weeks later, and after 4 calls to the call center and countless promises of someone addressing this problem and calling me, nothing has happened. I have delayed getting a Telkom line for fear of exactly this type of service, but against my better judgement, opted for a very attractive promotional offer. I can't wait to cancel this thing, so I can put Telkom and its incompetence behind me. I can however say that the people who have tried to untangle the admin mess have been very pleasant, and are put in a very tough position.. ie, between the disillusioned customer and the clearly antiquated Telkom systems and processes.
