Shortly after porting to CellC in December 2012, I realised I was missing calls at home, calls were cutting off consistently after a few seconds when they did connect, and my data connection was totally unstable. Apart from the general frustration, I am on 24hr standby for work and cannot afford to be unreachable via my mobile, especially since I have no Telkom landline. After filling out a complaint form and submitting this to CellC sometime around February of this year, I was advised to roam on the Vodacom Network which had its own challenges & snail-speed Edge. I shared my woes on MyBroadband whereupon a CellC rep contacted me to advise that CellC are aware of the lack of signal in my area (Simon's Town/Glencairn), but they had already identified a site in the area, received municipal clearance, and were about to start installing a new base station which would take up to 3 months to complete. That was approx 8 months ago, but nothing has materialised, and not a word from CellC. Porting to CellC was possibly one of my worst decisions. Even in parts of Claremont CBD, where one would expect good coverage, there are many cellC 'blind spots' while VC, MTN, Telkom have full coverage.
