Telkom charges customers for a service they are not providing. Having 2 internet lines (2MB 10Gig capped at my office and 4MB Uncapped at home), I am using this facility daily and have carried out extensive speed tests during this time. I average at home merely 1.5Mps for a 4Meg line!!! This is daylight. Having Cell C, MTN and Vodacom mobile data lines, I also checked the same sites / speed etc and it is way more consistant and much much quicker every single time. I tested my results at various peak and off peak times, and the AVERAGE stays the same - between 1.1 and 1.7Mps at home!!! Night surfing is hit the hardest with the lowest average speed on the test days. I wish to cancell my ISP agreement, BUT I have to give 30 days notice (I have only had the line 3 weeks of which 1 hole week I had no service... I feel robbed paying for a 4MB line and receiving an average of 1.5MB. STAY clear and rather use the competition for faster speeds. I will update this notice the moment I switched and share my new ISP performance.
