If You are Considering using Vodacom: DON T

If your service provider is Vodacom, I feel sorry for you if your experience is anything like mine.
Ten days ago my cell phone with number 0825688924 was.
I have had the number 0825688924 for 19 years. I have paid or had call charges deducted from my account for all that time.
I have had, from time to time, phone upgrades with no problem.

I applied at a Vodacom shop for a new phone and a sim swap to my old number, 0825688924.
I gave proof of my identity with an ID book.
I gave proof of residence.
The shop checked on their computer and verified that I was who I said I was and gave me a phone and assured me that the sim swap would take place in 24 hours. It didn't happen. The shop told me that when they put my ID number in the Vodacom Accounts Department computer it says I am female, born in 1965 and live in Bothasig. I am actually male, born in 1955 and live in Pinelands. You can tell just by looking at me. So I said, Oh, your database is wrong. Here's my ID. But nothing has happened. I still do not have my number back.
I have now phoned Vodacom six times. I have had five emails. I have send a copy of my Vodacom account which shows my name and my phone number as 0825688924.
