I have had a previous complaint against Telkom regarding ADSL line installation at my complex that I live in, in Rustenburg. I live in Bali Village and was informed by Telkom that because no cable sleeves have been installed in the complex by the developer they are unable to do a line installation. Firstly that is a poor excuse as we are currently living in an digital age and they are unable to assist someone who wants to be connected to the internet, and the excuse is lack of infrastructure, the excuse is more laziness. I have a friend who has also applied for ADSL and was informed that there are no lines available to his house, but the solution that was given to him was that poles will be planted in order to complete the install. How is it that some people are willing to look for a solution and others not? And Telkom has a slogan of "making it happen", it should be changed to only when convenient. I believe its time for Telkom to start taking more responsibilty, seeing as they are the only telecommunication company in South Africa.
