Billed for data usage beyond control

New Blackberry Q10 crashed on 24 August 2013, resulting in the phone downloading unauthorised data. Phone was booked in for repairs on 27 August 2013 and received it back on 09 Sept 2013. Phone has limit of R700 which soft locks automatically once reached. Vodacom soft locked phone on 24 Aug, but at R3006!!! Almost 5 times the agreed upon amount. Data of /- R2500 was downloaded without my consent or knowledge- due to phone crashing. Now Vodacom wants me to pay for something beyond my control as a result of phone i received from them on 03 July 2013!!! i did not authorise download, nor was i aware of it. And why was the phone not locked at the R700 that was agreed upon???
