We, my wife and I, took out a D-Link USB contract with Telkom in Feb for R499 per month due to me working from home on the internet. We had to give them a deposit of R700 and we paid the pro rata which was R - 300 this first month. Then we got an account of R1000 for rental the first month. And when we inquired about this they said we pay in ADVANCE for the rental and we accepted it as such. We then had to cancel it in June as I had no use for it anymore and we were instructed at the George branch to cancel via telephone as we did in the shop. When we inquired about the cancellation end of July, because we had to give a one months notice, the accounts department said the account is still active even though we cancelled the contract a month ago. Then we had to give another months notice and they said we will receive our last statement on the 9th of September. We did not receive it and when we phoned AGAIN the account is still open. We asked for managers but with got no help. We just want our deposit back and it seems that we are getting nowhere. the problem seems to be with the communication between customer service and accounts dept or accounts behind. I don't know what to do.
