I have a contract with Vodacom & I changed banks & in the process the debit order for Vodacom was not changed. I did not pick it up as I don't use the number. I explained what had happened & the debit order was reinstated as of 01.06.12 & I authorised them to continue with the debit order until the outstanding amount on the contract was settled in full. As there were no further debit orders after 31.03.2013 I presumed the contract had been settled in full. I then get a call from an extremely aggressive clerk from some attorney's office advising me that I owe Vodacom money and have been handed over & blacklisted. I asked her to send me a statement for the account which I am still waiting for. I was contacted a second time & requested the statement again, still waiting. I sent an email to the lady at Vodacom I had previously been dealing with & still no response. To date there has been no communication from Vodacom - no statements, no letters of demand, NOTHING. Even though they have my postal address & email address! Given that they are a telecommunications company one would think it would be easy!! No, they would rather just hand people over, even when the error is on their side!!
