Either Incompetent Staff or Weird Policy???

HI,

I visited both 8ta Telkom Mobile store (Waterfront and Canal Walk) to purchase the once off 10 X 8ta dongles special for R399. I was required to have my original ID and Proof of address. I have over 10 lines with 8ta, had my drivers licence with me. Was going to pay for it cash. Both the stores did, was refused to serve me outright as i did not have my ID with me. When eventually I went to another 8ta Telkom mobile store they just looked at my ID and handed it over to me. I inquired must you not make a copy of it. They said NO what for you paying for it CASH.

I just need to know is this 8ta Telkom mobile policy or was it that i just ran into couple of... staff who did not understand how this works.

I bought the MTN R199 for our business which came with a TV free did not need my ID as they had it on record.

I bought a BB from Vodacom for work as the they offered me good deal. Again they delivered it to my doorstep at no additional charge.

Please answer me for my curiosity sake.
