Data Bundle Contract Nightmare

In 2011 I signed up for a 12 month data bundle contract of which the monthly instalment was R149 p/m. The contract expired in 2012 of which I called cell c & asked if we can renew the contract, they informed me that they no longer had that particular product & could offer me another one which worked out to be more expensive. So I opted to cancel the contract, I wrote a cancellation letter & faxed it a couple of times just to ensure that it was indeed received. I eventually went to the sandton city branch & asked a consultant there to fax the letter for me. He indeed faxed it & printed a confirmation for me. An e-mail from one of the supervisor confirming the cancellation was forwarded to my previous employment. You can imagine my horror when I was contacted by Pholosa early May 2013 advising me that my acc was handed over to them for collection, I informed them that I paid that account in full & cancelled my contract with Cell c last year already. When Cell c was asked why this issue is only being raised now or why the late notification no one can give me a straight answer, I am unable to produce the confirmation e-mail & am being hounded now by Pholosa to pay up or face legal action.
