As requested by the call centre, I gave 30 days verbal notice to cancel my data contract after the contract term expired. The contract was not terminated and another deduction was made from my bank account. After further repeated calls to the call centre (where each time a 'case was logged' and closed a day or two afterwards without any action being taken) I was eventually told to go to a Telkom branch to cancel the contract in person. After going to the Tekom Direct in Paarl Mall I was told that they don't do cancellations, the call centre must do it. The call centre on the other hand has now twice told me, they don't cancel contracts either any more, a branch must do it in person. So what am I to do? Another deduction will be made from my account at the end of August for a contract that I have been trying to cancel since July 1st 2013. Please help.
