Cell C
Billed incorrectly then taken to lawyers

I had two contracts with Cell C; the handset contract EXPIRED in December 2012 and was for R280 per month. I even took the liberty to go to Cell C to request that they do not renew this contract. That was on the 18th of December. The other contract was for 2GB data at R99 per month. In January 2013, I received a invoice for R7139. To my comfort. I also received an e-mail from Cell C saying that they realized there was an error in my account and that they would attend to it. Two days before the January debit order was due to be deducted, I called Cell C to find out if they had fixed the error or not. They hadn't. I have since cancelled my debit order and have been paying R99 directly into Cell C's account.
Some weeks ago I received a call from lawyers telling me that Cell C has handed my account over to them. I explained my case to the lawyers and they told me to contact Cell C. I called Cell C and they told me I should talk to their lawyers.
I used to be both a Cell C Contract and prepaid customer. They used to have reliable, fast internet at the most reasonable prices. I have since ported my prepaid number to another, more expensive network and cancelled the contracts.
