Our business used Web Africa's service for hosting. We terminated in 2011due to affordability reasons and paid the last installment due. Two years later we receive notification via sms from their debt collectors to say just under R2000 is outstanding. Conveniently, all our correspondence has been deleted as the matter is so old.
Their claim is that the amount outstanding accrued interest and therefore the amount is so high. The issue is not that moneys are due however the interest would have been avoided should there have been proper correspondence forth coming. Web Africa terminated and blocked our account meaning we had no email facility to receive mails.
Due to complete ignorance on Webafricas part, we accepted that ourservice has been terminated. Sadly we had a rude surprise when contacted by their debt collectors.
Secondly the contract was taken in the name of the business, not in my personal capacity, yet their debt collectors threaten to black list me should i not make payment.
No other details of mine has changed besides my email address. Why 2 years later do i receive a call on my cell to inform?
They have no regard for thier clients whatsoever!
