BEWARE WHEN TAKING OUT A CELL PHONE CONTRACT, THEY WILL KEEP CHARGING YOU EVEN WHEN IT'S CANCELLED!!!
In May 2012 I took out a cell phone contract with Cell C in Rosebank. The phone provided was of such poor standard that I returned it to the store the same day, along with the sim card. I am entitled to do so in terms of the Consumer Protection Act and was advised that the contract was cancelled and I would not be charged.
CELL C ARE STILL CHARGING ME FOR THIS CONTRACT, OVER A YEAR LATER!!! I have phoned, emailed, got a complaints reference number, been back to the store etc etc but without any success. Each time I have been told it will be sorted out but it never gets done.
The bank have advised me that cancelling the DD would have no effect as they use a different reference number each time to take the payment.
This is the most shocking service I have ever experienced. Their conduct in billing someone, month after month, when I don't even have a phone, contract or number with them is absolutely criminal!!
